WPS research and education
Knowledge partners are academic entities contributing to and sharing the knowledge surrounding the ZOO-Project open WPS platform. Universities, labs, institutes, schools and fondations are welcome to join our research and education efforts for the development and promotion of open source web processing.
Knowledge partnership
Goals
The ZOO-Project Steering Committee (PSC) is seeking knowledge partners to provide research and education support for the ZOO-Project open WPS platform. Main goals of partnership are:
- Develop research collaborations around open source processing and webmapping.
- Reuse, extend and contribute to existing or new scientific models or algorithms through WPS.
- Add value to research projects and collaborations using ZOO-Project.
- Make ZOO-Project a first class web processing engine, also in the academia.
- Promote WPS and ZOO-Project for sustainable IT development and open education.
Actions
The knowledge partners are invited to take actions for using and promoting ZOO-Project in their organizations and beyond, such as:
- Use, adapt and extend ZOO-Project for your research activities.
- Promote and cite ZOO-Project in your publications, conferences or workshops.
- Mentor and help students, researchers or other professionals using ZOO-Project.
- Include and promote WPS and ZOO-Project into research programs.
- Use ZOO-Project for teaching WPS and open source GIS.
Benefits
ZOO-Project knowledge partnerships provide the following benefits to organizations for an unlimited period of time :
- Partnerships will help ensure the sustainability and activity of ZOO-Project.
- Knowledge partners will be listed in the ZOO-Project's website knowledge partnership section, with a link back to their website.
- Knowledge partners are consulted by the ZOO-Project PSC regarding strategic directions for research and development activities.
- Knowledge partners can consult the ZOO-Tribe and take advantage of specific support which can be provided by the ZOO-Tribe.
